This Saturday September 17, Tesco stores across the country, including the Athlone store in Golden Island, will be throwing a Communi-Tea party to celebrate donating over €56,000 to good causes across the county.

Athlone’s Golden Island shopping centre has been sold by Tesco to Swiss bank Credit Suisse for a sum of €43.5 million.

Tesco has announced that long serving members of staff are on ‘inflexible contracts’ and are demanding that they take wage cuts.
