Research for the Digital News Report was undertaken by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford and analysis of the Irish data is provided by the DCU Institute for Future Media, Democracy and Society (FuJo).

O’Hara - Athenry psychologist position to be reinstated

Sinn Féin TD for Galway East, Louis O’Hara, has welcomed confirmation from the HSE that interviews have taken place and a successful candidate has been offered the position of psychologist in Athenry Primary Care Centre. O’Hara has been calling on the HSE to reinstate this position since it became vacant in November 2023 and was subsequently abolished.

In 1965, the Galway Arms Golf Society was formed in the pub of that name on Dominick Street with the blessing of the owners, Jimmy and Nancy Coen. The idea of forming a society was Tommy Donnelly’s who, for his troubles, became its first secretary.
