Ireland West Airport has become the first airport in Ireland to become members of the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. Passengers with non-visible disabilities who choose to display the Sunflower will be provided with a free Sunflower Lanyard at the Customer Assistance Desk inside the Airport Terminal.

Galway’s Patricia Forde was announced as the seventh Laureate na nÓg, Ireland’s Children’s Literature Laureate last weekend at a special event at the Arts Council. An award-winning children’s author from Galway, Ms Forde will hold the title from now until 2026, taking up the position from the outgoing Laureate, Áine Ní Ghlinn.

The competition is open to all between the ages of 18 and 40 who may be nominated in one of 10 categories and nominations close this weekend.
