Prepare for a night of great entertainment when the thespians of Parke Drama Group take Wigs on the Green to Ballina tomorrow, November 18. Wigs on the Green, a superb comedy by John McDonnell set in bygone times, tells the story of Betty Smith and her daughters Kitty and Maureen.
The siblings are keen to settle down with brothers Jack and Jim Matthews, much to their mother’s dismay, since the lads haven’t an acre or a shilling between them. Parke Drama Group welcomes two new actors to the stage this year with Aoife Kilcawley and Heather Collins taking on the roles of Kitty and Maureen respectively. Veterans Des Gilsenan and Vincent McHale portray Jim and Jack.
Wigs on the Green is directed by Lizann Gorman, making her stage directorial debut, and the cast also includes Brid Smith, Richie Wynne, Jo Deane, and Michael Maguire. Wigs on the Green goes on stage in Ballina Arts Centre tomorrow at 8pm with tickets costing €10.
