Craughwell AC had one of its best team achievements on Saturday when the senior women’s team won bronze medal in the National League final in Dublin.
Pitted against the top 16 clubs in Ireland over over days, the women excelled to take the medal in an event which went right down to the wire. And in the last race of the day, the 4x200m, the Craughwell quartet blitzed the field to secure medal winning points.

More than 400 athletes took part in a hugely successful inaugural running of the Craughwell AC organised Women’s Mini Marathon held on Bank Holiday Monday.
Jane Ann Meehan of GCH was the overall winner, storming home in a time of 38.06 for a clear victory. Shauna Bocquet of Craughwell AC won the wheelchair category in a superb time of 28.16.

The Craughwell Senior Women’s team had another outstanding day at Round 2 of the National League held in Athlone Indoor Arena. Managed by Sarah Finnegan, the team put in some top-drawer performances across the range of events to qualify for the final in second place on the leader board, just one point off table toppers DSD AC.
The team comprising Sarah Finnegan, Siofra Davis, Caoimhe Kilkenny, Jade Moorhead, Leonore Church, Eva Kelleher, Grace McKermitt, Rachel Finnegan, Sinead Treacy, Aisling Keady, Laura Cunningham Sinead Gaffney and Holly Shaughnessy now go forward to the National final.
