All charities and community organisations in Galway city and county are invited to attend a free networking event on April 26.
Organised by Volunteer Galway and The Wheel, the meeting is taking place in the Connacht Hotel from 7pm to 9pm (registration from 6.30pm ).
The event will provide groups with information on cost savings and fundings available to the community sector; examine issues such as commitments made in the Programme for Government to support the sector; and the priorities of the Charity Regulator.
"Most organisations find it difficult to access training or support to build their ability to grow and develop even further," said Donncha Foley, development manager with Volunteer Galway. "We hope our new partnership with The Wheel, and any initiatives that come out of it, will have a long lasting impact. Many organisations have similar challenges, and this is a new space to develop ways of addressing these challenges.
“Since Volunteer Galway was established in 2006, we have had the privilege of working with a broad spectrum of organisations and groups who have an extremely valuable impact in Galway,” `Mr Foley, said.
Volunteer Galway supports members of the public to find suitable volunteer roles through selecting roles with non-profit and community organisations in Galway. The Wheel is a support and representative body connecting community and voluntary organisations and charities across Ireland.
