Kia's recently unveiled all-electric models – the EV4, PV5 and Concept EV2.

Kia this Spring unveiled three new forthcoming all-electric models at the brand’s recent 2025 EV Day in Tarragona, Spain – the EV4, PV5 and Concept EV2.

The EV4 is expected in Ireland before the end of 2025, available in the guise of both a hatchback and saloon, while the PV5 light commercial vehicle should arrive here in 2026.

The smaller, more affordable EV2 is still in its concept phase, so a 2027 launch date is most likely for Ireland.

At the event, Kia displayed nine vehicles in total. The Concept EV2 was shown along with four examples of the EV4: two four-door saloons and two five-door hatchback models. The EV4 extends Kia’s electric vehicle line-up of the six- and seven-seater EV9 (2024 World Car of the Year ), and the EV6 (2022 Irish Car of the Year & 2022 European Car of the Year ).

Information of Kia’s new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV ) range has previously featured on these pages, which promises to include several sizes ranging from small to large. The PV5 is the first PBV model to be officially unveiled, with four variants illustrating its flexibility – the PV5 ‘Cargo’, PV5 ‘Passenger’, and PV5 ‘Wheelchair Access Vehicle’ (WAV ) variants, along with PV5 ‘Crew’, a flagship conversion model developed and produced directly by Kia.

Speaking at the Spain event, Kia president and CEO, Ho Sung Song said: “Kia remains committed to becoming the world’s leading EV brand and sustainable mobility solutions provider by enhancing the options and experiences we offer our customers. With models like the Kia EV4 and the vision shown in the Kia Concept EV2, we strive to democratise EV ownership, making the benefits of sustainable mobility solutions open to everyone.

“In an era that places ever greater demand for customised products and experiences, buyers still expect manufacturers to meet their needs. As a first mover in the PBV sector, Kia, through the PV5, combines a customer-first approach with advanced EV technology to transform personal mobility.”
