Dublin-based Big Sleep will bring their indie, classic rock, funk, synthwave and soul to Monroe’s Live this Saturday, May 24, as part of their European tour, which includes three sold-out shows in the Netherlands.
Formed by friends who met at school through Dublin’s live music scene, Big Sleep is an Irish-Italian and Spanish outfit whose eclectic influences include The Cure, Big Thief, JJ Cale, and Jamiroquai.
Their single ‘Two Cents’ followed a run of new music for the group including ‘Daisy’, ‘All My Friends’, and ‘Go’, a garage rock track that reached number 4 in the Irish Breakers Radio Charts.
Their sound combines indie-pop with alternative rock and R&B, which is reflected in their EP Isn’t That Sweet featuring standout tracks such as ‘Easy’, ‘Maccy D’s’, ‘All Of The Pretty Things’ and ‘Shivering’.
These releases received strong national airplay and support from international stations. They featured on prominent Spotify editorial playlists such as New Music Friday, Hot New Bands, and All New Rock.
Big Sleep has toured with Somebody’s Child, and appeared at major Irish festivals including Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Indiependence and Forbidden Fruit, and showcased at Ireland Music Week. They have also played headline shows across Dublin, London and Berlin.
In recognition of their rising profile, Big Sleep were named as one of 2FM’s Rising Artists for 2024, ensuring national playlisting. They were also nominated for the Ticketmaster ‘Irish Rising Star Award’.
