CEOL tour heads to Galway

CEOL

CEOL

Irish folk band CEOL is on an international tour, with a stop at Monroe’s Live on Saturday, May 17, at 9pm, as its Galway leg.

Formed in 2022 following a nationwide talent search involving more than 1,000 musicians, CEOL was the brainchild of singer Nathan Carter and music manager Liam McKenna.

The group quickly made its mark, amassing more than 5m views on TikTok within six months, and releasing a self-titled debut album that reached three million Spotify streams in its first month.

Inspired by Irish legends such as The Dubliners and The Chieftains, as well as contemporary acts like Mumford & Sons, CEOL aims to carry folk music into a new generation.

Their energetic performances and harmonies have found favour with audiences across Ireland and Britain, with a growing international fanbase.

CEOL’s festival appearances throughout 2024 and a string of sold-out headline shows have further cemented its reputation. Its repertoire includes well-known tracks such as ‘Beeswing’, ‘The Ferryman’, ‘Big Strong Man’, ‘Some Say the Devil Is Dead’, and ‘Travellin’ Soldier’, alongside collaborations like ‘Heave Away’ featuring Nathan Carter.

CEOL’s latest single, ‘Victim Of Last Night’, is a tribute to - and a reinvention of - a Swedish folk pop song about regret and vulnerability.
