Acclaimed vocal group, The Galway Baytones will be joined on stage by KeinChor, from Halle, Germany at Nuns Island Theatre tonight Thursday May 1 for a concert of a cappella music.
This will be the first major concert performance in 2025 by The Galway Baytones. It follows an extremely busy 2024 programme, of which the highlights were concerts in Galway and Paris with the French choir Les Foliephonies and a concert with The London Welsh Male Voice Choir in Galway Cathedral.
Formed in 2013, KeinChor is a vocal ensemble made up of six friends who specialize in a cappella music spanning a range of centuries and styles. From well-known folk songs to nearly forgotten classics, classical, popular, and comedic works, KeinChor has performed over 200 concerts since its formation.
They have performed in cities throughout Germany and collaborated with many international choirs. In 2016, KeinChor earned third place in a national choir competition and in 2023, a highlight of their tenth anniversary was a guest concert at the EU in Brussels.
Voice promises to be a concert filled with beautiful harmonies and soulful melodies as the two groups showcase their vocal prowess without any instrumental accompaniment. Tickets are available online at Eventbrite.ie, €10 plus booking fee.
