Men’s Aid is Ireland’s national dedicated domestic abuse support service for men, their children and families experiencing domestic violence, including coercive control.
Irish research shows that at least one in four women and one in seven men will experience an abusive relationship during their lifetime.
Men’s Aid is victim-focused and provides a national service underpinned by a victim-centric and human rights-proofed approach aimed at ensuring all male victim survivors receive the required support.
In 2021, Men's Aid supported a 42 per cent increase of almost 8,000 contacts to the service, comprising 25 nationalities.
The emerging situation in terms of the escalation of domestic abuse and associated crimes shines a spotlight on how important it is for society to recognise that domestic abuse is a crime.
If you are experiencing an abusive girlfriend, wife or partner, whether it is emotional, psychological, financial, sexual or physical, know you are not alone, and information and support are available.
