Trad, rock and beats at Monroe’s for Easter

This Saturday, April 19, the award-winning trad stars The Byrne Brothers will take to the stage at Monroe’s Live, followed by Galway’s own Amazing Apples, and DJ Corey’s late-night set will keep the party going into the early hours.

The Byrne Brothers

The Byrne Brothers

Hailing from Donegal, the high-energy Byrne Brothers will bring their vibrant brand of folk and trad music to Monroe’s.

This internationally acclaimed group—featuring brothers Luca, Finn, and Dempsey, alongside their father Tommy—have wowed audiences across the US and at major Celtic festivals, earning accolades like the Young Artist Academy Award from Hollywood and Rising Stars of the Year from American Celtic Radio.

With a dynamic mix of traditional and original tunes, each brother brings unique talent to the stage - Luca on accordion and dance, Finn on a variety of instruments and vocals, and Dempsey on bodhrán and vocals - while their multi-instrumentalist father Tommy adds a masterful touch.

Their hit album The Boys of Doorin has been praised for its enthusiasm, personality, and natural gift for music.

Tickets to The Byrne Brothers are €12, and include free entry to the late show.

One of Galway’s favourite indie folk-rock bands, The Amazing Apples, are back at Monroe’s Live on this Saturday, from 11pm.

Known for their spirited performances, the Apples deliver a rousing set of Irish, Americana and heavy rock anthems.

A tour de force on the live music scene, these exceptionally talented multi-instrumentalists have shared the stage with artists of such calibre as Mumford and Sons, Walking on Cars, The Coronas, Gavin James, Ryan Sheridan, Damien Dempsey, The Riptide Movement, Sharon Shannon, and Paddy Casey.

Their debut album A Little Sense went straight to number three in the Irish independent charts, with a sound influenced by legends like The Dubliners and The Waterboys.

Since then, they’ve lit up stages at Electric Picnic, Indiependence, Sea Sessions, Westport Festival, and performed across venues in New York, Boston, Switzerland, Romania, and Britain.

Support on the night for the Amazing Apples is from singer-songwriter Conor Ward. His single, ‘Elephant’, explores the life of those who care for people who suffer from dementia.

Tickets to The Amazing Apples cost €10.

Not only that, DJ Corey will spin the decks late into the night with an eclectic mix of tunes to keep you dancing.

Whether you're a trad enthusiast, a fan of folk-rock, or just looking for a great night out, Monroe’s Live is the place to be this Saturday.
