Get ready for the ultimate family-friendly sports event of the year. The 2025 Salthill National 5-a-side returns to Salthill Park on May 31 and June 1, 2025. Following the overwhelming success of previous years, this year’s event promises even more excitement, keeping the same thrilling format with some fantastic additions. Expect a men’s tournament (minimum of three games per team ), an U13 boys’ tournament, and an U13 girls’ tournament.
In 2025, organisers are taking things up a notch by adding more family-friendly activities, even more food options, and additional outdoor fitness classes to keep everyone engaged throughout the weekend. The event will also feature even more live music to enhance the lively atmosphere. With something for everyone, there’s no better place to spend the weekend with your family,
Activities galore
The 2025 Salthill Fives will feature a variety of fun and engaging activities for all ages. In addition to the exhilarating 5-a-side tournaments, you can join in on outdoor gym and yoga classes, sample the best of Galway’s culinary scene at our food village, and enjoy a packed lineup of live music performances. Expect even more food stalls this year, with favourites like Ground and Co., Mr Waffle, The Dough Bros, Handsome Burger, Alainn, and Pratai, plus many more exciting food vendors to explore.
Youth focusedTo keep the young ones entertained, there will be free skills coaching for over 100 underage boys and girls, giving them the chance to learn and grow in the game of football. In addition, a range of family-friendly activities will be on offer, designed to ensure an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Health and wellbeing
In partnership with Croí, its charity partner, the Salthill Fives will continue to promote health and well-being. This year, Croí will double its testing capacity, with two cardiovascular nurse specialists on-site offering free blood pressure and pulse checks while also providing information on heart disease and stroke prevention.
A bigger, better tournament
The 2024 event drew massive crowds, and Salthill Devon FC is determined to make the 2025 tournament even bigger and better. “We guarantee all participants and attendees a fantastic weekend,” says Pete Kelly, of Salthill Devon FC. “We’re thrilled to bring so many exciting elements to the event, from the tournaments to the live music and everything in between. We’re also excited to welcome Greg Cunningham as this year’s Guest of Honour”.
