Minister Canney commended the local groups involved in securing this funding: "I congratulate all the community groups who made successful applications and acknowledge the dedication of those who continue to work voluntarily to improve their local facilities. Their commitment ensures these centres remain welcoming spaces for all generations.

"The Government remains committed to investing in community infrastructure, and this funding marks a significant step in ensuring the long-term sustainability of these essential facilities."

Councillor Cheevers said: "Renmore Scout’s Den has been awarded €51,500 as part of the Government's announcement today. This will be welcomed by Renmore scouts as it will go towards upgrading their facilities. The Renmore Scouts is a huge part of the community and it is important that this is funded over the next number of years to maintain it’s importance for the area."
