Lexus Galway has been crowned 'Franchise Sales Operation of the Year' at the 2025 Irish Motor Industry Awards by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI ) in partnership with Bank of Ireland.

The SIMI Irish Motor Industry Awards in partnership with Bank of Ireland were held recently at a ceremony in the Clayton Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin. The awards honour businesses that have demonstrated excellence and best practice in their industry over the last 12 months. An independent panel adjudicated winners across six award categories.

The 'Franchise Sales Operation of the Year' award recognises the best franchised car retailer, one that is able to show evidence of a high-quality sales function, exemplary customer service and an innovative approach to business.

Lexus Galway dealer principal Tony Burke, as well as sales manager Enda Brennan, and sales executive James Ryan, were presented with the Franchise Sales Operation of the Year award by Brian Cooke, SIMI director general, and Derek Kavanagh, head of motor finance, Bank of Ireland.

Tony Burke said that the team at Lexus Galway "have worked extremely hard to develop a business ethos and culture within the dealership which lives and breathes customer service".

"Our continued leadership is evident in our providing of superior quality, excellent customer experiences through our 'Lexus Omotenashi' mantra and innovation by developing uniqueness in our Lexus vehicle design, driving dynamics and brand image.

"We believe this focus has truly transformed Lexus into a Luxury Premium Car brand that not only creates amazing experiences, but positive environmental changes in the premium car market," added Burke.

SIMI President Jonathan Meade expressed his pride in the Motor Industry. “With the incentives in place over the last few years, we are on track to achieve the 2025 interim target of 175,000 electric cars,” he said.

“This proves incentives do work and highlights the importance of maintaining supports for businesses and consumers to encourage EV sales. Of equal importance is the investment in charging infrastructure. We need a robust, fast, and reliable charging network to ensure a seamless EV experience.”

The 'Franchise Sales Operation of the Year' award for Lexus Galway follows on from the Ballybrit-based dealer's recent success of being named Lexus Retailer of the Year 2024 by Lexus Ireland. This accolade recognises leading performance across several key performance indicators on both the sales and aftersales business.

Lexus Galway became the Japanese brand's first retailer in Ireland to achieve the five-star level in both sales and aftersales customer experience which is measured across a wide range of criteria.

Lexus was the fastest growing hybrid electrified premium car brand in Galway for 2024 with an increase of 58 per cent of the premium car sales market, according to SIMI sales figures.
