Sinn Féin TD for Galway West, Mairéad Farrell, has called for all centres to have generators in place in case of outages like the one caused by Storm Éowyn. Her comments come as she has been made aware of several health centres in Connemara which are operating without electricity, seven days after the storm hit Ireland.
Speaking today Mairéad Farrell TD said: “It is an outrage that health centres in Connemara are still trying to serve their communities without access to electricity, seven days after Storm Éowyn.
“Health centres must be prioritised in the storm response and all health centres should have generators made available to them, in the immediate term and to protect against future situations like this.”
