Galway City Museum shares Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award

Recognised among the Best in Ireland, based on outstanding 2019 traveller reviews Galway City Museum is looking to continue this trend for 2021

Thanks to supporters of Galway City Museum, it was again recognized as a Travellers Choice award-winner for top tourist attraction in 2020. Based on a full year of Tripadvisor reviews, prior to any changes caused by the pandemic, award winners are known for consistently receiving positive traveller feedback, placing them in the top 10 per cent of tourist attractions around the globe.

“Winners of the 2020 Travelers’ Choice Awards should be proud of this distinguished recognition,” said Kanika Soni, chief commercial officer at Tripadvisor. “Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners' achievements. Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for travelers as the world begins to venture out again.”

The year has been slow to kick off but Galway City Museum is now open with an array of inspiring exhibitions exploring the archaeology, history and culture of the region. Current museum highlights include exhibitions, Monument developed in partnership with Galway 2020, former European Capital of Culture; The Corrib: Myth, Legend and Folklore; Keepers of the Gael / Caomhnóirí na nGael and Revolution in Galway, 1913-23. The museum welcome visitor feedback to help maintain standards and to continue to improve its service. It encourages museum service users to visit www.tripadvisor.ie when they return home after a visit and to write a review about their experience at Galway City Museum. These reviews are useful to other tourists planning their trips this summer and give them reason to consider Galway City Museum and Galway as attractive tourist destinations for 2021.
