Heavy metals - new music, new restrictions, new problems

Providing a combination of DIY indie, folk, and rock and inspired by Joshua Burnside, The Frames, Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes, and Band of Horses, Derek Ellard and the future business model's new album, Heavy Metals, is about modern grief, a loss of personality but, evidently, a new normal for many.

Dealing with the often unscrutinised, after-effects of psychotropic medication, Heavy metals is emotionally charged and harmonically lush which erupts with frustration at 2.21, marking a more exploratory and alternative side to the four piece's creative process.

Based in Galway, the band are obsessed with the human condition, the band's songwriter, Derek, delves head first into the woes of our current climate with his emotionally charged rhetoric reinforced by their distinct use of vocal harmonies and metrical sleight of hand. Often hysterical, invariably restless but principally honest, the band is pushing folk rock in new and challenging directions.
