About the Galway Advertiser

The Galway Advertiser is a free newspaper serving Galway City and County. It was the first free newspaper of its kind, and is the longest running Advertiser newspaper in Ireland, established in 1970 by Ronnie O’Gorman.

The Galway Advertiser is the largest circulating paper in Galway City and County, free or paid for. It has a circulation of 40,480, with 24,508 papers delivered directly into people’s homes around Galway every Thursday, and 25,000 online readers each week.

This newspaper provides a combination of informative and engaging articles from award winning journalists, comprehensive local area features, historical storytelling, as well as high quality advertising, all of which contribute to its readership of 131,610 in Galway city and county.

The Galway Advertiser is also involved in sponsoring key cultural events in the city, from the Film Fleadh to the Galway International Arts Festival, as well as running its own Advertiser Events which have included the annual Career & Education Conference, Pathways, and concerts from bands such as Shaskeen.

The paper is written, designed and produced in Galway, with strong links to the local community through readers, customers, advertisers, and events. Its office in Eyre Square highlights its continued place at the centre of Galway life.

Pick up a copy for free every Thursday, or check out the e-paper at www.advertiser.ie
