Excitement continues to grow ahead of Athlone Agri Show launch

Westmeath County Council Cathaoirleach, Cllr Aengus O’Rourke, will officially launch the 2023 version of the Athlone Agri Show in the Bounty Bar & Venue on Thursday, June 8.

Speaking to the Athlone Advertiser Cllr Dolan noted his hope that there would be a large attendance for the official launch.

“As a committee we are meeting on a weekly basis at the moment and we will host our official launch of this year’s show in The Bounty Bar & Venue on Thursday June 8, at 8.30pm, to which we are hoping that as many as possible can attend.

“This year, our show sees the return of cattle classes, while poultry classes will also be available, along with all the usual horse, sheep and dog competitions.

“We hope that there will be something for everyone at this year’s show, Local band, Streetwise, will be performing and the show will also feature plenty of entertainment and activities for children, including Bozo the Clown, so it is an occasion to be savoured by all family members.

“Rohan Transport are providing a free shuttle service from Athlone, with pick-ups at Golden Island bus stop and the Fair Green bus stop every hour on the hour from midday until 6pm. This will hopefully allow more people to come out to the show from the town,” Cllr Dolan asserted.
