Dubarry Park set to host Buccaneer’s annual tag rugby summer league finals

Buccaneers tag rugby summer league finals are down for decision at Dubarry Park on this Friday night with the first of the half dozen finals commencing at 7pm.

Presentations to the various winners of this Laya Healthcare tournament take place in The Bounty afterwards followed by celebrations and dancing later.

Rugby Summer Camp

Buccaneers rugby summer camp, in association with Smith’s Supervalu Monksland, takes place the week after next at Dubarry Park from Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 12, from 9.30am to 12.30pm daily. Boys and Girls aged 7 to 12 years old are welcome to come along. No rugby playing experience is necessary. Children can have fun, make friends and burn up some energy! Cost is €70 per child with discounts for additional family members. All participants for the five days will receive a rugby ball and Ttshirt. Advance registration is recommended. Women’s Touch Rugby

Women’s touch rubgy sessions will take place on four Thursday evenings at Dubarry Park from August 11 to September 1. These introductory sessions welcome ladies and girls aged 16 to 60 and no previous rugby playing experience is required. It’s a growing fun sport so why not come along and give it a try from 7pm each evening. Phone Denis at 0857742751 for further information.

Cash for Clobber

Buccs ‘Cash for Clobber’ is back! Clean clothes, towels, scarfs, curtains and bed linen welcome but NO duvets, quilts or pillows. Hats, belts, handbags and paired shoes are also welcome. Items may be dropped in to the first dressing room at the club or contact Geraldine at 0861732711 during office hours.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Anna McGann and Jordan Conroy who helped Ireland Women’s Sevens and Men’s Sevens teams qualify for the World Cup finals which take place in South Africa starting on September 9. Best of luck to Buccs trio Denis O’Connor, Nigel So and Paul Gavin who have been named in the Ireland Touch Rugby M40 squad ahead of next month’s European championships in Nottingham with another Pirate, Rory Silke, travelling as player/manager.

Condolences

Deepest sympathy is extended to Tom Farrell and family on the passing of his son Eoin and to Michael Earley and family on the death of his father Patrick. May they rest in peace.
